Gac [Momordica cochinchinensis] is a large orange fruit with large, flat seeds which are contained in dark red gooey pulp (see video right) very high in lycopene, some 70-80 times higher than lycopene in tomatoes. Lycopene is an antioxidant, a type of naturally occurring chemical believed to help protect against cell damage. It has also been shown to help prevent prostate cancer. The pulp surrounding the seeds gives its red colour to a rice dish called xôi gấc which is served at festive occasions in Vietnam,
