Clothilde Bernair, Tadelakt Artist
Published 31 May 2011
Clothilde Bernair has always been fascinated by materials and
vivid colours. When she was a child she painted on the walls, drew
house plans, made models and played with mud in her garden. After
discovering the red sands of Africa she decided to call her work
Sable Rouge and
now works as a decorative plasterer. Clothilde is actively involved in
projects aimed at publicizing tadelakt [decorative and waterproof
plaster originally from Marrakech, Morocco] and has opened the first
tadelakt showroom in Belgium which encourages exchanges between
artisans and tadelakt professionals. She organizes training courses
and subcontracts for designers and architects while doing her own
tadelakt projects and interior design work. Here is a report, in French, about her work.
